Animals from the feedlots have spent most of their lives grazing on grasslands and once adapted to their new environment they are fed a natural diet mainly consisting of maize products.

Animal Welfare remains a priority. Livestock kept at Okapuka is handled by experienced, fully trained stock-men under a low-stress approach with noise and disturbance kept to a minimum, enabling animals to settle both comfortably and contented in our outdoor feedlot environment.
